Spinal Cord Injury Patient Case
Our patient cases present a real-world patient scenario and accompanying learning activities.
Kelly Menarche, a 19-year-old woman, was transferred to inpatient rehabilitation from the acute hospital yesterday, after an eight-week inpatient admission following a motor bike accident. The patient was driving in the rain on dusk, rounded a corner and lost control of the bike. The patient sustained a L3 fracture with spinal cord damage, upper body lacerations, fractured ribs, and a radial fracture at the right wrist (managed with a plate and screws).
