Case Summary:
Adeela Burki, a 19year-old women, was admitted yesterday following a sporting injury where she collided with goal posts while playing netball – she was shoved by a fellow player accidentally. The young woman has sustained a fracture to her right ankle and right ribs 4 through 6 (single compound fracture, no displacement of ribs) with associated contusions to the thoracic region. The ankle fracture has been managed with an open reduction and internal fixation surgery. The rib fractures are managed conservatively. Physio has been requested day 1 of admission.
